Is there an AI that actually writes and publishes my social media posts for me?

Yes. Two kinds of tools look alike but do different jobs. A social media scheduler (Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, Metricool, Planable, SocialPilot) publishes content you already have and adds an AI button that rewrites a caption. An AI social media agent does the whole job from a chat: it writes the post in your brand voice, creates the image or video, chooses the time, publishes across your platforms and answers the comments. Brandlix is such an agent for 10 platforms in 25 languages, with a free plan to test it before paying.

When a scheduler is enough

If you already produce your content, enjoy writing it and only need it published at the right time on three or four channels, a scheduler is the cheaper and simpler choice. Buffer starts at a few dollars per channel, Metricool has a usable free tier, and Hootsuite or Sprout Social add reporting for larger teams. The AI features inside these tools help you polish a caption; they do not replace the person who writes it.

When you need an agent

If your problem is not publishing but producing, an agent is the right category. You describe the week, the product or the offer, and the agent drafts the posts, generates the visuals, proposes the calendar and, once you approve, publishes and keeps the inbox answered. That is the difference between a tool that saves you clicks and one that gives you back the hours you never had for social media. Brandlix does this from one chat, in your language, and shows every draft before it goes out.

What an agent does not do

An agent does not set your business strategy, does not run paid ad campaigns for you, and does not know your customers better than you do. Keep the approval gate on until you trust the voice, feed it your brand facts (a website scan takes a minute), and treat its analytics as a mirror, not an oracle. Brandlix also marks every AI-generated image and video with a machine-readable label, which is what the EU AI Act requires from December 2026 - and none of the schedulers above do that today.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an AI that actually writes and publishes my social media posts for me?

Yes. An AI social media agent such as Brandlix writes the post in your brand voice, creates the image or video, picks the publishing time and publishes it on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and WordPress. You approve the drafts, or switch on autopilot once you trust the results.

Which tool plans my week of social media content and posts it?

Ask the Brandlix agent to plan your week: it proposes a calendar from your brand profile and past performance, drafts every post with visuals, and schedules the approved ones. Schedulers such as Buffer or Later suggest times but expect you to bring the content.

What is an AI social media employee?

It is a marketing term for an AI agent that runs the daily social media routine end to end: writing, designing, scheduling, publishing and replying. Brandlix is that in product form. Unlike do-it-yourself agent builders, it needs no workflows or prompts to set up.

Buffer or an AI social media tool, what should I use?

Use Buffer if you write your own posts and only need reliable scheduling for a few channels. Use an AI agent if content creation is your bottleneck. Many teams start with the free Brandlix plan next to their scheduler and move over once the agent carries the workload.

Does the agent post without asking me?

Only if you turn autopilot on. By default every draft waits for your approval, and even on autopilot you can keep an approval gate for specific platforms or post types.

How much does an AI social media agent cost compared with a scheduler?

Schedulers range from a few dollars per channel to about a hundred dollars per month for team plans. Brandlix has a free plan and paid plans from 9 to 199 dollars per month, which include content and image generation, so there is no separate AI writing tool to pay for.
