Social Media Funnel
A social media funnel maps the stages a follower moves through, from first discovering your brand to becoming a paying, loyal customer.
A social media funnel is the path a person follows from awareness to action, usually framed as awareness, consideration, conversion, and loyalty. Each stage needs different content: discovery posts and Reels to attract, educational and proof content to build trust, and clear calls to action to convert. It matters because treating every follower the same wastes attention and budget. Mapping content to stages lets you guide audiences deliberately and spot where they drop off. You measure each stage with reach at the top, engagement and saves in the middle, and conversion rate and revenue at the bottom.
Examples
- Reels for awareness, carousels for consideration, a CTA post for conversion.
- Retargeting engaged viewers with a limited-time offer.
- Tracking drop-off from reach to link clicks to purchases.
